Isn’t this simply beautiful? I’ve never had a “thing” for Cary Grant the way I do some other film stars. I think he was wonderful with a few of my favorite female stars, particularly Irene Dunne and Katharine Hepburn. He was terribly funny and charming. I mean, he was truly a Star. I just never had, you know, *those* thoughts about him.
But this is just the loveliest photo, isn’t it? I could have those thoughts about the man in this picture, at least for a few minutes. You too, right?

Here’s Sophia Loren with Cary Grant and Frank Sinatra in the weird movie The Pride and the Passion, released in 1957. (You might think, “oh, I love all those people, I’ll watch!” But maybe don’t, unless you are prone with the flu or something.)

Can we talk about the perfection that is this picture?

I think this is from Sylvia Scarlett? I’m not a great fan of that film; Hepburn’s early tinkly stage is kind of weird for me. And he was still kind of Archie. But they sure are pretty.

And they’re wonderful together in Holiday, the next movie they did together (Bringing Up Baby was actually the same year;) one of my all-time favorites.

Wet hair and glasses

Possibly Cary Grant’s single most attractive moment to me is in Bringing Up Baby. Hepburn has just burned his socks in their campfire, and he’s scolding her, his hair is wet and combed back from his head, and he’s wearing glasses.

But I haven’t found a picture of that today. This is from a couple moments after that, though.
