Passion and pleasure, mostly in vintage packaging

Gonna spend some cozy time with the turntable this evening. And maybe a glass of bourbon. :-)

Dino and Me

Here are some blog posts I’ve done over the past little while which mention Dean Martin. Actually, all but the first include audio or video, and images for you to enjoy.

Memories Are Made of This

There are others, of course, as I bring him up fairly often; at least several times a year in the regular blog which is just about anything and sometimes everything. 2004-2006 aren’t very accessible, though. Also, he’s featured heavily in two of my NaNoWriMo books, which I hope to someday combine into a real book.

I wasn’t very much into his music until around 15 years ago, but Dean Martin is one of those celebrities I have loved ever since I can remember, which is stretching pretty far back there, at this point.

Like since I was born, I guess.

It’s actually Tom Jones’ birthday as well. I never really thought Tom was all that cool until I learned this, and also that he once lived in the house in Bel-Air formerly owned by Dean Martin. That’s very cool. (Except it was later owned by Nicolas Cage, until last fall, and he hasn’t been cool in a very long time, so.)

Sing to me, Bobby.

…whatever you say.

More Birthday Week song indulgence; also from 1966, also dear to my heart as a child.

Birthday Week

June 1 marks the start of birthday week, which reaches its zenith on the 4th, when the world pays tribute to my miraculous existence, and culminates on the 7th with my personal homage to Dean Martin.

But it’s been a long exhausting day so I’m putting off starting the silly self-indulgence until tomorrow. Feel free to start without me! ;-)
